Vélocité Image Agency (VIA) is a photographic agency exclusively dedicated to cycling. We are the first sport image agency created from the ground up which aims to minimise the environmental damage that is inadvertently caused by our industry.
We are passionate about providing the best images of the races, riders and places they pass through. For us cycling is about more than just the winners. It’s about history and heroic endeavours. Landscapes and the fans lining the route.
Our photographers have decades of experience in the art. Specialising in action, portraiture and product photography.
Why choose Vélocité Image Agency?
Besides our commitment to photographic excellence, we can help you meet your own organisation’s environmental targets. You can rest assured that we are delivering a service that is mindful of our impact without compromising on the quality of images provided.
How do we aim to achieve this?
Full carbon neutrality on or before the date set out in UCI Agenda 2030 for teams and race organisers.
Our servers are powered by renewable energy.
Our photographers group races together to maximise the number of events covered while minimising the impact of initial travel.
All of our vehicles are Crit’Air E or 1 equivalent.
We have a ‘no fly’ policy for short to medium distance journeys* and for lower category races**. Our goal is to create a network of photographers that cover these races to significantly reduce the need for damaging flights. All while maintaining our very high standards of photography.
*less than 1000 miles - 1600 kilometres
**below UCI Category UWT and WWT. Inter continental flights will only be considered for UCI World Championships and Olympic Games.
We believe that this approach is essential both for the good of the planet and for the development of our industry. Increasing opportunities and exposure for those photographers based outside the heartland of the sport.
We do not believe that protecting our environment is just for activists and the already deeply committed. We believe that it is something for us all to consider as we go about our daily lives. We feel that for the sport that popularised the concept of marginal gains this is an appropriate way to conduct our business.
UCI Agenda 2030
UCI Agenda 2030 sets out the UCI’s commitment to lead and take action on climate change, achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. This includes obligations to adopt standards set out in ISO20121 - Sustainability in Event Management***. The 2030 agenda points to engagement with stakeholders (race and event organisers, National Federations and teams) and the future imposition of regulatory requirements to uphold these standards.
***ISO20121 extends to the supply chain of events, procurement and services.
